Twenty years in the making
President Boulevard was a long time coming. PSP Properties bought this site in 2005 with a simple idea: give Rustenburg a shopping centre built around what people actually need, in a spot that’s easy to reach. The doors opened on 22 May 2025.
The centre is anchored by President Hyper, with quality groceries at the lowest prices, and the retail mix grew out from the original Planet Fitness Just Gym building into the everyday stores a household uses week to week.
Shaped by the highway it sits beside
The N4-facing side is a bold, brand-forward façade, a billboard for the shops inside. The other side is the boulevard the centre is named for: tree-lined entrance avenues that soften the scale and make it a place you want to walk into.
Two wide entrances make the way in obvious, and between them a shaded piazza gives the restaurants a proper heart, somewhere to sit, eat, and let the kids run for a minute. Two levels of roofing bring the scale down and shade shoppers from the harsh western sun. Inside, timber-slat ceiling islands and clerestory glass keep the walkways bright without the glare.
